June in Chicago

What a weird day weather wise... it was cold when we went to the park this morning, then warm-up... this evening, we have had down pours, thunder and lightening, wind gusts, and now the sun is shining and its almost "balmy". Anyway, here are some pics of the kids enjoying the rain.

The "Super Big Park"

We have this wonderful and huge park about 10 minutes from our house, and last summer we started the tradition of heading over there every Sunday morning to run the kids around and get them tired so we could have a "family nap time" in the afternoon. Today, we started the tradition again (though the nap time thing didn't work for my lil girl!). Here are some pictures of the kids at the park at the beginning of summer... I'll try and remember to take some at the end of summer to so you can see if they've changed.

Memorial Day weekend

Our summer continued immediately after graduation with a trip down to the farm where my inlaws live. Ryan's sister and her family joined us there, as well as his brother.

The kids took a tractor ride with grandpa on Sat as he was finishing some work in the field.

The other major highlight of the weekend was the 4-wheeler. Both kids went on rides with Ryan multiple times!

Here are all the cousins playing together (minus the 9 month girl in Ryan's sister's family)

The dogs even enjoyed their weekend away!

Graduation

Our summer actually started out with my lil girls graduation, the last Thursday night in May. Lil Patriots does a great job with their preschool, and the graduation just made me love the program even more. Here's hoping our lil boy can get into the program after he turns 3.

Below are some pictures and the only video I could upload of the program that was put on by the preschool. I just got a new camera, and was playing with some of the settings that night, so most of the pictures didn't turn out... you can still get the idea!

Go Blackhawks!

Now ... who needs mommy?

To add to the humor that Ryan experienced Sat morning while I was shopping, today Ms. J and Mr. A again wanted to play mommy and baby. So Ms. J grabs her laundry basket (which is full of a weeks worth of clothes), carries it down the stairs, and into the laundry room. There, Mr. A gives Ms. J a piece of clothing out of the basket, and she puts it in the washing machine!!! Absolutely hysterical!

Now, mind you, I had no intention of doing either of their laundry today, but since most of her clothes were already in the machine... why stop? So we washed their clothes, but as I was placing the clothes into the dryer, Mr. A runs in and is asking to help... well of course! So, individually, piece by piece, I give Mr. A a piece of laundry, and he places it into the dryer.

He hasn't quite caught onto the concept that the clothes need to be dried though... so as soon as the dryer is full, he starts taking clothes out of the dryer and putting them in the laundry basket!!! NOOOO!!!! They need to dry first!!!

But knowing that he wants to do this... when the dryer was done, I let him pull all the clothes out of the dryer and put them in the laundry basket, while I was making dinner. When I went to check on him, I found him taking the clean clothes, that he had placed in the laundry basket, back into the washing machine.... Funny boy!!!'

So anyway... I wish I could have gotten pics, but by the time I would have grabbed the camera, the moment would have been lost. We got one great chuckle out of their laundry adventure!
